  5.      The documentation for this archive is located in DocMan.TXT, which
  6. should be located in the same directory as this document.  This list of
  7. bug fixes and changes made to DocMan is in chronological order; the new
  8. information appears at the end of the document.

  10. ** IMPORTANT **
  11.  
  12. Before installing DocMan, you must end all tasks that might be using the 3D
  13. control library; these tasks include QuickCD, CD Player, and most other tray
  14. applications.  To end a task, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, select the task to be
  15. ended, and click "End Task".

  19. BUG FIXES:
  20.  
  21. 1.  DocMan will no longer display an error message indicating that the
  22.     DOCMAN.INI file could not be found.
  23.  
  24. 2.  DocMan will now update the document count display correctly.  The
  25.     previous version of DocMan would only update this field once.
  26.  
  27. 3.  DocMan will now format messages displayed on the screen properly (there
  28.     will be no more 'tiny' message displays on 1024x768 screens).
  29.  
  30. 4.  DocMan should now be able to locate the help file every time now.

  32. NEW FEATURES:
  33.  
  34. 1.  DocMan can now optionally close the document window after a document
  35.     is opened with the "Open" command.
  36.  
  37. 2.  DocMan now features a "status" bar which appears at the bottom of the
  38.     document window.  This is the area where informative messages that do
  39.     not require your immediate attention will be displayed.
  40.  
  41. 3.  DocMan can now display the "type" of a document, instead of the name.
  42.     There is also a separate column that indicates whether or not DocMan is
  43.     protecting the document.

  54. 4.  The DocMan interface has been redesigned to make using DocMan faster and
  55.     less complicated.  The differences are outlined below:
  56.  
  57.     a) There are now fewer buttons in the quick access area, which means
  58.        there is more space for the document list.
  59.  
  60.     b) The quick access area has been moved so that it appears above the
  61.        document list, for easier reading.
  62.  
  63.     c) Those features which no longer appear in the quick access area have
  64.        been moved to the menu (which is located directly above the quick
  65.        access area).
  66.  
  67. 5.  The document list is now shown in three columns, consisting of the
  68.     name of the document, the status of the document, and the type of
  69.     the document.  The width of the columns can be changed simply by
  70.     clicking on the divider to the right of the column you want to adjust
  71.     and moving the mouse left or right while holding down the left mouse
  72.     button.  You can select a document by clicking on the name of the
  73.     document (not the status or the type) with the left mouse button.
  74.     You can select more than one document by holding down the control
  75.     key and clicking on each document you want to select.

  77. 6.  You can now right-click a document to open a context menu, just as you
  78.     would right-click a folder, file, icon, or drive in Explorer.
  79.  
  80. 7.  DocMan now has support for "tooltips".  If you allow the mouse pointer to
  81.     hover stationary over a button, or text field, a short description of the
  82.     button or text field will be displayed.

  84. 8.  There is now an "Unprotect Document" command to go with the "Protect
  85.     Document" command.
  86.  
  87. 9.  You can now open a document (or more than one document if you wish) by
  88.     double-clicking on the document in the document window.  If you want to
  89.     open more than one document, select each document while depressing the
  90.     control key and then (after releasing the control key) the last document
  91.     you selected.

  95. BUG FIXES:

  97. 1.  When you make a change to your preferences, the change will now be
  98.     recorded properly.  In the previous version of DocMan, the change would
  99.     only be recorded if you selected "Exit" from the right-mouse-button
  100.     context menu.

  102. 2.  If your system registry does not contain information about a certain
  103.     file type, or DocMan could not locate that information, it will not
  104.     show "(null)" any longer.  Instead, it will show "Unknown".

  106. NEW FEATURES:
  107.  
  108. 1.  There is now a "remove all unprotected" command, which will automatically
  109.     remove all unprotected documents from the document window.

  113. If you own a SyQuest EZ-135 Internal IDE Removable HArd Disk, please consult
  114. the PROBLEMS.TXT text file for information about a -potential- conflict with
  115. DocMan.

  119. BUG FIXES:
  120.  
  121. 1.  The "Add Document" command in the context menu now performs the correct
  122.     function.  In the previous version of DocMan, this command would cause
  123.     the document list to be refreshed.
  124.  
  125. 2.  DocMan will no longer crash if you move the document window.
  126.  
  127. 3.  DocMan will no longer crash if you select "About" from the context
  128.     menu.
  129.  
  130. 4.  DocMan will no longer crash if you select "Options" from the context
  131.     menu.

  133. NEW FEATURES:

  135. 1.  DocMan has been compiled with a new compiler; it is now smaller, faster,
  136.     and more efficient.

  138. 2.  DocMan is now a true Windows 95 application, as opposed to a Win32
  139.     Windows NT application.
  140.  
  141. 3.  The installation module has been improved; it is now a 32-BIT Windows 95
  142.     application, and it now more robust.  In the next version of DocMan, the
  143.     installation module will be improved again (to make it more user
  144.     friendly).

  150. 1.  DocMan once again contains a version information tab.
  151.  
  152. 2.  DocMan will no longer display a message if it cannot find a file that
  153.     a shortcut points to.
